Mumbai

March, 2001
The Bridgettines stepped into Mumbai in March 2001 with three sisters staying in a rented house followed by an own house. Subsequently for reasons of convenience, the home was moved to another location, Vakola in Shivaji Nagar, Santacruz (E) which was blessed on 8th Sept. 2007 by Most Rev. Percival J. Fernandes, Auxiliary Bishop of Mumbai.

The community consists of eight sisters. Daily adoration and the liturgical hours of prayers are the hallmark of the community. The sisters render their services to the small Christian Communities (SCC’s) by conducting prayers services, recitation of the rosary, special prayers for the First Holy communicants, Confirmations, and also caring for the sick and the dying.

The convent also has a guest house and rooms for the working women. Guests are received with an ecumenical aim keeping in mind our charism ‘Hospitality with an Ecumenical Aim’.
